Well well well, it's February already.

Damn, I really need to write more. Perhaps this month will be a good month to start.

This past weekend I celebrated my 24th birthday (which was on the 6th) with family--Joe went on a trip with his dad so he was with us in spirit. We had a celebratory dinner at this Vietnamese noodle house in Fairfield and it was pretty good. The food was yummy and so were the tapioca drinks, although I wish next time they would put more mango juice in the mango tapioca drink.

After that, my sisters and I pulled out the ol' PS2 and played Karaoke Revolution (a b-day gift Joe gave me before taking off) all night. Mel and I played it again today, a karaoke face-off so to speak. At this time, yours truly had her score (50000 easy setting on "Don't Know Why") knocked off by Mel's score of--get this--50009, also on easy setting. Forgot which song though, I'm sure I'll remember later.

Mel sings waaaaaayyyyyy better than me. Abby and I tried to convince her to consider auditioning for American Idol, but she gave us a straight-forward "hell no".

In other matters, I've gotten more into the music of They Might Be Giants, thanks to the documentary that Joe rented on DVD. Joe and I also discovered Dial-a-Song, TMBG's hotline for songs in the works. Of course, it has a rep for being slightly unreliable (we tried calling numerous times to no avail). Hopefully we'll someday be able to get through and check out a cool song.

Mel and I were listening to their greatest hits compilation yesterday...and laughing our heads off. I always knew TMBG wrote such weird lyrics...but I had no idea how weird they would be. Looks like Mel's now a bonafide fan.

I'm kinda beat...good thing I'm not working tomorrow. I can finally sleep in! Deserving of someone who just became a year closer to a quarter-century.
